Third View

‘Third View’, architectural model, table, lamp, television monitor, size – variable, 2015.

A recreation of a site-specific installation that was made in an old Art Deco hotel in Pune, which is now converted to house an art residency. Challenging the notion of site-specificity by transplanting a place and collaborating with an architectural model maker who rebuilt the ‘scene of the crime’, to look at what might have happened in a place, of tales being told about it. Tracing the profession of architectural model making and the role of the architectural model maker in history and to look at how they have been used a tool for utopian imaginings. Here the absent model maker becomes part of the fictional narrative and a memory of the site.
